2025 - New Catering building and new Carwash building in St-Hubert Airport (MET)
Construction of two ancillary buildings at MET - Montréal Metropolitan Airport: an in-flight catering facility and a rental vehicle washing and cleaning facility.
Part of the development of the new YHU terminal, these facilities provide approximately 17,440 sq. ft. of space supporting airport activities. Located in Saint-Hubert, MET connects Greater Montréal with destinations across Canada.
IN-FLIGHT CATERING - ± 9,800 sq.ft.
This single-storey building brings together receiving, temperature-controlled storage, washing, assembly and airside dispatch. It includes four assembly areas totalling approximately 2,669 sq. ft., an approximately 377 sq. ft. freezer and two refrigerated spaces totalling approximately 904 sq. ft. The cold storage spaces have insulated slabs, with ventilation beneath the freezer slab.
A loading dock with a hydraulic leveller and dock seal supports logistics. Offices, a training room, a cafeteria and a change room with 30 lockers complete the facility.
During construction, temporary facilities had to be set up to maintain in-flight catering service.
VEHICLE WASH - ± 7,640 sq.ft.
The building combines an approximately 1,420 sq. ft. wash tunnel, a 4,520 sq. ft. cleaning area, a 474 sq. ft. storage room and a 743 sq. ft. technical room.
It incorporates an automatic high-speed roll-up door, heated exterior slabs at access points and an integrated drainage system. A fuel tank and pump on a drained concrete apron, protected by bollards, complete the installation. Staff facilities and separate access points facilitate vehicle circulation and limit cross-traffic.
BUILDINGS TAILORED TO AIRPORT OPERATIONS
Both buildings feature insulated metal panel envelopes and TPO roofing. The layout addresses the needs of each activity, from receiving goods through dispatch, or from vehicle entrance to exit.
On an airport site governed by strict access and security requirements, PREMIERE coordinates the work in close alignment with the overall YHU development, taking day-to-day operations into account.
